Program Budget Template Generator
Build a clean, funder-ready program budget as you type. Add your people and costs, and I'll calculate personnel, fringe, indirect, and totals live — plus a justification narrative you can paste into a grant application.
Program basics
Name the program and how long it runs.
Personnel
Each person's program cost is salary × FTE% × (months ÷ 12).
Fringe covers payroll taxes and benefits, applied to the personnel subtotal. Use your organization's actual rate if you have one.
Non-personnel costs
Supplies, travel, equipment, contracts, and other direct costs.
Indirect cost rate
Shared overhead that keeps the organization running.
Indirect costs (overhead or administrative costs) cover shared expenses you can't tie to one program — accounting, insurance, leadership time, administrative space. Funders treat these very differently: some cap them, some exclude certain line items from the base, and some accept a federally negotiated rate or a de minimis rate. Check each funder's guidelines before you rely on a number here. Here the rate is applied to your total direct costs.
In-kind contributions
Donated goods, space, or volunteer time — shown separately, not part of the request.
No in-kind contributions added. This section is optional.
